Tattoos are the window to the soul, what are your thoughts
A big thank you to all the tattooed bodies.
I first read that statement over 35 years ago, it took my breath away then and it still moves me today.
What makes people want to tattoo themselves, put something on their body in ink and have it stay there forever?
When words are not enough on their own, ink can say it with more depth.
Are you the type of person who gets intimidated when you are around people who have tattoos?
If the answer is yes than this post is for you.
Tattoos have in my generation had a bad rap, I think mostly because tattoos are seen to have a bad presence, and have notably been given bad publicity where they are related to criminals and people of a trashy nature.
I think in this day and age tattoos have become more of an acceptable trend, and more and more young people of all walks of life are taking up the art of becoming tattooed. When tattooed tastefully it really is a fantastic sight, the skill and concentration that is required to be a great tattooist really is something that should be given much more credit than it does.
Take a look at some beautifully tattooed bodies.
Wether you are in to tattoos or not, you can not walk past the artwork with out having some respect for the artist and the person wearing the art.
Tattoos are not for hippies, gang members, they are not for gypsies or trouble makers.
They are for anyone that has a voice to speak out whether that be your inner voice or your speaking voice.
They are for anyone that has a voice to speak out whether that be your inner voice or your speaking voice.
Tattoos are not everyones cup of tea, but for those people who do enjoy getting tattoos the reasons behind why people get them are many. Perhaps they may have something important that they wish to remember, share, scream to the world or something very personal that gives them inner strength or confidence.
Tattoos are for teenagers, middle aged and the old. Tattoos may be a personal statement that has meaning and depth or tattoos may simply be a display of art in colour or black and white.
The question is always asked does getting a tattoo hurt?
The answer to that question is yes it does hurt, any time somebody’s poking you repeatedly with a needle, it’s going to be really uncomfortable and anyone that says they didn’t feel a thing, I would dare to challenge you on that statement.
There are three layers of skin, the Epidermis (composed of 5 sublayers) Dermis, and Hypodermis.

The needles penetrate the dermis, which is fairly permanent.
The epidermis is constantly replenishing itself with new skin cells, because of this they have to go deeper so that the ink is permanent.
A tattoo is simply a puncture wound that is being filled with ink. Some people are more tolerate to pain than others and some people get used to the process quicker than others.
Do people regret having their tattoos?
I would say Yes there are some people who regret getting tattoos, but I speak for myself when I say No. I have not regretted one tattoo that I have had put on my body. You see for me tattoos represent who I am, so whether it be now or when I am older. Each tattoo on my body has a profound meaning to me and represents a moment in my life.
For those of you that do not understand Tattooing and the insight behind this art form, I would like you to take a look at some beautiful tattoos that speak louder than words could on their own. As above you have seen the beautifully coloured tattoos. I must point out that words are as important as pictures, with the tattoos below no colour has been used but the words speak for themselves.
The judgemental attitude has to go.
Tattooing needs to be seen as an art form not just graffiti.
I have chosen some Tattoos here that really hit home for me, I hope when you read them the words will have meaning for you also.
I would like you to read each and every one of them and really look at what they are saying to you.
Put the judgement hat aside and feel what these words are offering you.
