People Thought We Were Crazy, How One Monkey Changed Our Life
This story is about motivation and Inspiration.
It’s about stepping outside your comfort zone to overcome the fears of what people might think of you.
It’s about the love we had for someone we had not even met yet, our Granddaughter and what we wanted to do for her.

The journey begins.
Chris and I were to become grandparents and we wanted to put a book together for our granddaughter that was just for her.
There are many companies that will make books, and put a story line down for you, but we wanted to put our own pictures and write our own story, and so the insanity began…
You may be thinking what does a monkey have to do with anything? but I can tell you he changed our lives in ways we would never have thought possible.
Uncle Monkey pulled us right out of our comfort zone. We did this because it was something we really wanted to do. We moved past our fear of looking like idiots and just went out there and did it.
We had some amazing people coming to us, curious asking us what we were doing? when we told them they thought it was awesome… some people made rude remarks and others would grab their children and move as far away from us as possible (very true).
It was a challenge to say the least to be determined to see this through to the end, but we had a goal, we were motivated to achieve what we set out to do.
We were writing a book for our unborn grand-daughter and Uncle Monkey was the character (lead role). We would ride 50 km a day and take Uncle Monkey with us so that he could experience the world, and then he could share it with Aleyah, our grand-daughter.

Uncle Monkey found a great friend, her name was penguin, often the two would sit for hours saying not a word.
Annie the chipmunk came out everyday when we arrived, we would put peanuts and raisins in Uncle Monkey hands and she would come over and eat. she got so used to him she sometimes curled up in his lap.
Every opportunity we had we would stop and introduce Uncle Monkey to the surroundings and of course the people.
Uncle Monkey was always getting into mischief, every opportunity he had, he would be up a tree or swinging off a bridge.

Everything was new and wondrous, Uncle Monkey took every opportunity he could to learn new things. He was so excited to put all of this in his book, so he could teach Aleyah all about the wondrous things in the world.
Monkey was always up for learning new things, nothing was too scary for him.
When Uncle Monkey was tired he had his own place to ride the bike in the back bag where he could still see what was going on.
The Moral of this story is don’t ever let someone or something stop you from doing what it is you want to do. Chris and I learnt a great deal about people when we were on our adventures with Uncle Monkey and that was that most people let their fears hold them back from experiencing life to the full. We finished our book and now Aleyah has her own uncle monkey as well as her book, which is awesome.
Well that’s todays lesson folks never let anything hold you back, never let anything stop you from achieving what it is, you want to achieve..I thought this would be a humorous way to demonstrate this to you.
