Mental illness, a huge problem in our society
Is the corona virus, Covid 19 just the first Pandemic?
Are we headed for the biggest pandemic yet, Mental illness?
In NZ, Figures released by Chief Coroner Deborah Marshall showed 654 people died from suicide in the year to June 2020. The suicide rate in New Zealand is now 13.01 deaths per 100,000 people.

It's an interesting task looking at mental health stats from around the world.
Word has it that Covid 19 has increased Mental Health 10 fold. The fear, anxiety, social distancing and uncertainty in the world today has had an enormous effect on people personally as well as business and economy.
With people losing jobs and businesses closing down, peoples outlook to the future is pretty grim.
With covid 19, a great emphasis has been put on mental health and I know New Zealand cannot be alone in changing some of it's policies around this topic. Mental Health (Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992.
In the first Policy amendment below =Health Practitioner has been modified to Mental Health Practitioner:
In the second policy amendment below =Medical Examinations has been modified to Examinations:
In the third policy amendment below =Medical Certificate has been modified to assessment certificate:

If you look at this closely the documents are saying a lot!!!
These are only 3 amendments I have listed, but there are so many more. Do you think this is an indicator that things are about to change? Our world is struggling with some Apocalyptic issues, the world is changing so rapidly are we able to keep up?
