Have You Ever Had That One Moment That Spoke To you?
There are times in your life when things happen, they are times when you least expect it, and they take your breath away.
In the Moment.
Have you ever had that one moment that spoke to you?
Have you ever had that one moment that spoke to you?
The giants.
I know you know what I am talking about, you have had moments that you wish you could have recorded in time, because they spoke to you, they meant something, they held some importance.
I have had many moments like this but most of the time they come, you experience them, and then they pass you by, so it is lost forever and lets face it, most the time we are to busy to really give that moment the time it deserves.
The reason for this post is to help all of us remember those moments of inspiration, how small they were, or how long ago they happened, those moments were important.

My daughter and I took a drive to a place called Yardley’s bush, and then went on to a beautiful lake called Ngaroto Lake. My daughter was doing a photography shot to finish a module she was working on, so I took my camera also to take some photos of these amazing places.
I put aside 12 months to return to NZ to have both shoulders reconstructed. Recovery was long and hard and having 2 shoulders reconstructed in one year is not common because of recovery time, but I braved all odds and just went for it. I was still in recovery mood when Angel asked me to go out with her to these beautiful places.
While out and about at Yardley’s bush I had one of these moments I am talking about.
The place is so amazing and beautiful, it was so healing.
“As I looked around at the giant Kahikatea trees and stood among them, to truly feel their presence was an aura of total absorption. These trees are so very old and have seen, felt and heard so much of the life that has passed before them that you almost get an insight. I felt like I was amongst giants. I feel so unimportant, but at the same time so important”
Their energy was of such importance, their history was of such significance that I felt like a tiny drop of dew that had run down a magnificent leaf and fallen to the ground.

There from the ground I looked up and saw their towering torsos leaning into the backdrop, like warriors in battle they stood so magnificent, ready to take on any challenge that may come their way. They gave me strength, I felt there power and it gave me determination.
Though I am independent from them, I felt a part of them, though I may be unfinished they gave me strength to continue my journey of healing.
I stood there in awe of what I was seeing. I felt at home, I felt like I belonged, I felt like I knew this place, like I was returning home after being away for so long.
How apt I thought, as it had been a long time away from home, perhaps the universe was telling me something, something very important.
Ngaroto Lake was just as inspirational, the stillness, the wildlife, the natural beauty was very uplifting. I felt something very deep when I returned to these places. They were my home and they seemed to be calling me back.
I am lucky, I had that time to record my moment.
That night when I got home I put the images on my computer and put together this short movie, I then picked up the guitar, pushed record and just played and sang what ever came to mind. My shoulders hurt, but it didn’t seem to matter, it was the first time picking up my guitar so I was really pleased that I managed to capture this moment.
And she’s looking for a place
and she’s looking for a place to call home, to call home.
She’s looking for herself.
she’s looking for herself,
everything around, everything around, everything around, everything around
and she thinks she might be there
and she thinks she might be there
and she feels it calling inside her body, and she feels it’s calling inside her body
and she's looking for a place
and she's looking for a place, to call home, to call home
and she thinks she feels it, calling inside her body
and she thinks she feels it, calling inside her body
and she thinks she feels it, calling inside her body
and she thinks she feels it, calling inside her body
………
I am really pleased I recorded this moment otherwise it would have long been forgotten like the many before it.
If ever you have a moment that makes you stop and take note. Write it down, and do something with it so that you don’t forget how that moment made you feel. Write a poem, write a song, draw a picture, plant a plant, anything so it’s inspiration is everlasting.
Sometimes going back to something wonderful is a great reminder of why you are where you are, doing what you are doing.
They are moments of inspiration.
The reason for this post is to help us all remember those moments of inspiration.
The giant Kahikatea trees can be found in a little place called Yardley’s bush in Te Awamutu, New Zealand.
