What is our True Self?
What is our True Self?
Evilina – Anticipation by Helga-Helleborus
We hear this phase being spouted about and I am sure many people have asked themselves and pondered on this, What is our True Self?
I would like to share with you my thoughts on 5 tips to identify the connections of true self.
I too have read many books and seen many views on this topic over the years, but I always come back to self experience. I can only comment from my own perspective and my own position on any matter, this way I leave you with no interpretation but my own and what you believe is just that.
Is the true Self Consciousness
First, lets take a look at what science thinks consciousness is, that way it will give us a foundation upon which to work.
Consciousness 2 theories.
Both theories are based on information coming into the brain and being assimilated by our brain network so to speak. (my simply terms) Tononi’s information theory number 2, to me explains consciousness on a more real playing field, where consciousness itself becomes a point of matter.

Consciousness 2 theories.
- “Bernard Baars, a neuroscientist at the Neurosciences Institute in La Jolla, California, developed the theory, which is known as the global workspace theory. According to Baars’ theory, the act of broadcasting information around the brain from this memory bank is what represents consciousness.
- “Neuroscientist Giulio Tononi of the University of Wisconsin-Madison developed one of the most promising theories for consciousness, known as integrated information theory. Integrated information theory starts with consciousness itself, and tries to work backward to understand the physical processes that give rise to the phenomenon.
Both theories are based on information coming into the brain and being assimilated by our brain network so to speak. (my simply terms) Tononi’s information theory number 2, to me explains consciousness on a more real playing field, where consciousness itself becomes a point of matter.

The information that the brain has not come in contact with but still knows, lets for the sake of argument call this the higher self.

My theory on the higher self or what I call true self:
The divine spark comes with you when you arrive here on this plane, you are born with a soul, it is the humans gift.
For the sake of explaining it differently let's say it is software already installed, call it the software package of universal wisdom.
As much as scientists would love to, you cannot take a piece of the brain and try to press the juice of consciousness out of it, nor do they understand the software program that you were born with. Biologically yes, true self no.
It is the information that the brain has come to know from cell memory and does not need to have come into contact with it on a consciousness level to understand it, this in my view is TRUE SELF.
Children are open doors to the planes of energy within the universe, they channel soul often in play. Children early on in their lives, work on a level with their true self, we are all born attached to the divine, the system cuts it losse.

Connections fade as children get older because (society) has expectations as to what is considered aceptable behaviours and development.
As we grow and learn, true self is often filtered by programming. Conditioning is inevitable and new programs are loaded in, one on top of the other, into young minds as rules and regulations which are handed out as often as candy.
Many of these core insights from true self are buried deep within the subconscious mind and forgotten about but your true-self holds on to those insights and intuitive messages.
As Adults we are still receiving true insight into who we really are, what our purpose is, the meaning of our existence, but because of programming we don’t always hear the messages.
We have moments of thinking to ourselves “oh I wish I was doing that, or that really makes me happy why can’t I do this as a career”.
They are the core lessons of your journey on to the physical plane. Reincarnation talks a great deal of these lessons, that you must understand the reason for your journey, before you can move into a position of understanding your true self.
Our higher selves are always watching over us, directing us into positions that lead us down a path of completion, but if we don’t hear our true self, we will find ourselves making the same mistakes over and over again, banging our heads against a brick wall.
Not all the lessons are joyful, and there may be things that on your journey you need to discover in order for you to continue moving on (Trauma can indeed give you insight).
It is the journey of discovery that is primary to the situation, how you react to that discovery will determine the outcome.

When knowing the difference between the self “ego” and the true self, these are things to consider.
- The self “ego as it has been termed” is easily confused, overwhelmed and does not like to much change, it is the constant battler inside of you, the true self on the other hand sees things clearly, never deviates and is certain of things, takes time to assimilate the world as it is happening, see change as simply knew wonders.
- The self is easily distracted, easily diverted, lead away from the purpose, constantly shifting thought, the true self is content, peaceful, satisfied and stable.
- The self is always looking for answers, driven by the ego the self has a thirst for all things involved in the self, true self needs not look for conformation of self, for it’s knowledge is written without question.
- The self is always hard on itself, rejection, lacking confidence, self critical, the true self is love, no need for approval for it is approval, it is all it can be in it’s most honest form.
- The self doubts inner information always looking for consumer acceptability, following the majority often resulting in a self-identity crisis, the true self never looks for approval, it always acts on what it knows to be true and seeks nothing but the truth.
5 Tips To Identify The Connections Of True Self
I hope my thoughts gives you an idea of what true self is. I hope you have some understanding now of how to listen to your true self and what it is you are listening for.
Like I said earlier, everyone has their ideas of true self, you must take what suits you, and your true self will indeed take in what it knows to be truthful..
